The battle has already begun:
But by the looks of the groundwork the groups have been laying, next year's battle is sure to be intense. The time and resources being thrown into public education campaigns are considerable, including nationwide advertising, widespread phone banking and in-district face time with lawmakers.
"You're seeing a lot of activity now that would traditionally take place in January or February. The whole advocacy community is six months ahead of where it usually would be on this issue," said America's Health Insurance Plans spokesman Michael Tuffin.

For their part, Progressives are not being caught off guard this time:
Health Care for America Now, a progressive reform group, launched a call-Congress campaign with an interesting twist. In addition to running the usual toll-free-number advertisements, the group is using click-to-call technology, which allows users to enter their contact information online and then get a call back that connects them to their lawmakers.
The group has contacted about 250 lawmakers and hopes to generate at least 100,000 calls, said spokeswoman Jacki Schechner, adding that she expected news of the click-to-call campaign to reach the group's 5 million members via e-mail.

We even saw the return of some familiar faces:
Also returning to the advertising scene after almost 15 years was fictional Everyman couple Harry and Louise, best known for helping to kill health care reform in 1994. But this time, the couple, back at the same kitchen table, is promoting reform.
The National Federation of Independent Business, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, the American Hospital Association, the Catholic Health Association and Families USA bought television airtime for the commercial in late August and early September. The multimillion-dollar buy included time on cable news channels, Comedy Central, the three major network Sunday shows and the local news broadcasts in Denver and St. Paul.
The message pushed by Harry and Louise in their new spots is needed, many say, for health care reform to become a high-profile issue in the presidential campaign and later in the new administration.

So, now that we have Harry and Louise on our side, we are sure to win aren't we?? Don't bet on it!! With the tightening of the Presidential race, and the skittishness of Congress, we simply must expand our Congressional majorities with members that WILL fight for Healthcare for Americans.
We have one such candidate in Kentucky's First Congressional District. Heather Ryan has already stated that the first legislation she wants to work on in Washington is getting Healthcare for those who need it. She says Healthcare should be a priviledge, not a right in this country. Lets all help get Heather there, to fight for us!! You can do so here:
